Moth eaten foot pads

I wonder if other llama owners have found, when examining the upturned feet of their animals, that the pads seem to be worn away? My lot seem to have permanent craters in their pads and I am wondering if it is the nature of our land? I have to say that the llamas never seem to be bothered by this problem, so maybe it's the norm?

Our llamas do not seem to have a problem but a neighbour with alpacas says his animals are having some problems and he is wondering whether it is rather like foot rot with sheep. His fields have a tendancy to retain water and of course it has been so wet until recently.

As you probably already know, Terry, all four of mine have the same foot erosion, but none are bothered by it. Hopefully that bit that Graham wrote for Llama Link will enable us to distinguish between foot rot (not really known in llamas, according to Graham) and foot erosion.
