An insurance company is going to advertise in the next Llalam Link - October 2010. I believe they may offer insurance against vets bills if this is still of interest to you. They are also going to have a table in our marquee at the Newbury Show on 18/19th September.

Just a small word of caution.
Vet insurance is great for 'peace of mind' for those enormous bills that take you by surprise, but in real terms does not always necessarily apply.
We have dogs and horses covered by vet insurance and have found the following;
The biggest expenses have been related to giving birth and neutering (dogs) this is not covered by the insurance.
The excess is usually £80-£100 and most minor illnesses and injuries (dogs and horses) do not reach this figure.
Certain breeds and types of animal are more susceptable to illnesses requiring long term medication (eg Great Dane, labrador, heart and arthritis ) so insurance may be a good idea for specific breeds with known health concerns.
We have kept llamas for 4 years and have had the vet visit three times, twice for health problems and once for microchipping( not covered by insurance, neither is vaccination). Our total bill for non routine veterinary care for 4 adult llamas in 4 years has been £200. This included worm counts and blood tests and works out at approx £50 per year. The cheapest dog or horse insurance for vet bills is approx £11 per month or £132 per year per animal ( I cannot imagine that llamas would be any cheaper!).

It may well be better to just put the money aside than to pay out for insurance that you may never claim ?
